Short memory
Earlier this month I did an assignment which not only took up two of my precious weekends, it was also pretty darn difficult. When I finally finished it I vowed to myself never to take on anything like it again.
Why is it then, less than 10 days later, I am still here at my desk doing part 3 of the wretched thing?! With part 4 due next week?!!!
Just got to take a short “break” from it to do a fiddly old job for another client. I originally declined it on the grounds that it would be fiddly and because I’d saddled myself with part 3 of foul job. The project manager phoned me at (her) home time to sweet talk me into doing it – by 9 am – her time. That’s 8 am here. Not being an early bird* that means I have to do it now. Again, I have vowed to be stricter with my clients in this regard.
*Vicious circle: I often stay up late finishing jobs because I work better at night than first thing – but because I stay up late, I have to sleep late (it’s not *that* late, she says defensively). A girl has to cram her 7 hours in somewhere….something the self-congratulatory early birds often forget.
Somehow, in all the mayhem, I keep forgetting my resolutions.

Prayers that you get it all done.
Hope you’re able to come up for air occasionally!
